The presenter of this broadcast was Jon Sharland, a friend of IIMS, who has spoken at various surveyor conferences and events. He has been specialising in Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges for over 20 years. Before that, he was involved in inspections and measurements using lasers and microscopes. Jon has a background in aircraft engineering obtained whilst serving in the Royal Navy. Jon displayed the extent of his knowledge as he explained in clear and concise terms how the technology works, how to use the equipment and what to look for to ensure you do not get false readings.
