Gathering Evidence

£35.00

Capt John Noble spent about 40 years in the marine surveying business, from running his own business (Murray Fenton and Associates Limited), based in London, to 5 years as head of The Salvage Association following its acquisition by BMT.

John attended over 60 major casualties including BRAER, SEA EMPRESS and ERIKA.  Involvement in these casualties often led John to dealing with matters of causation and gathering evidence, which made him a perfect choice to speak on this topic.  In addition, John acted as an expert witness on about 70 cases in a number of jurisdictions- the UK, USA, Canada, Sudan, UAE and Sweden to list a few.

John was the technical editor in three appropriate publications:
Casualty Management Guidelines  (2012)
Guidelines for Collecting Maritime Evidence Volume 1  (2016)
Guidelines for Collecting Maritime Evidence Volume 2  (2019)

There brought a wealth of background knowledge and experience that he contributed and shared with delegates and answered a number of questions arising.

John retains an active interest in the topic and is assisting the legal representatives in a number of on-going cases.
