A new international trade show, the Marina High Tech show, has been announced for 2018, dedicated to new technology in yachting.

Marina High Tech is “a high-calibre showcase of nautical and sustainable innovation across the marine industry”, according to the organisers.

The first edition is set to take place at Marina Baie des Anges in Villeneuve-Loubet from 24 to 25 May 2018 with the support of Villeneuve-Loubet Council, CCI Riviera Ports, Nice Côte d’Azur council, the Regional Tourism Board and local stakeholders in the PACA region.

In a recent statement, organisers said, “The show represents a coming together of nautical innovation and sustainable development to demonstrate the importance and commercial imperative for new technologies that favour the protection of our marine environment.

“Marina High Tech comes at a time when those with an economic interest in the ocean and those who use it for leisure are increasingly motivated to reduce the impact of human activities on marine life.”

The show is expected to attractyacht captains, shipyards, chandlers, agents and management companies and marine surveyors. Anticipated exhibitors include technology companies, manufacturers and professionals from across the marine sector, as well as a “new generation” of tenders, toys and aquatic devices. A dedicated ‘Superyacht Area’ will showcase products and services of particular interest to larger yachts.

Exhibiting yachts ranging from 10 to 30 metres (33 to 98 feet) LOA will display their design innovations and use of solar, electric, hybrid and photovoltaic power systems.

Round-table seminars will take place over the two days, with the aim of educating and inspiring industry members. Guest speakers will discuss the latest developments in marine technology and ecology and the economic, regulatory and commercial ramifications.

A formal dinner will be held on the evening of Friday 25th May with a prize given to the ‘Best Entrepreneur in the Show’.

The statement continued, “Thanks to the enthusiasm of our exhibitors, partners and seminar leaders who will join us from all corners of the world, the Marina High Tech show is set to become an event of international importance. The concept alone is strikingly innovative – Marina High Tech show is the first of its kind.”

The Marina High Tech show is open to the general public. Tickets are charged at 10 euros and entrance is free after 4:00pm on both days.
