The International Institute of Marine Surveying is delighted to announce that it will be returning to Regent’s University for its London Conference 2017. Organised specifically at the start of London Shipping week on 11 and 12 September, it gives delegates the chance to move on to participate in other events later that week.
Dinner will be held on Monday 11 September from 19.00 at the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms. IIMS has chosen what is a very special and iconic venue. The Churchill Cabinet War Rooms reveal the stories hidden beneath the streets of Westminster. Explore the underground bunker that protected the staff and secrets at the heart of Britain’s government during the Second World War as Churchill and his inner circle plotted the route to Allied victory. Walk in the footsteps of Churchill and glimpse what life would have been like during the tense days and nights of the Second World War. See where Churchill and his War Cabinet met and step back in time in the Map Room, which has remained exactly as it was left on the day the lights were switched off in 1945. Arrive early and be transported back into the 1940s!
Although subject to final confirmation, confirmed speakers include Jukka Kuuskoski from Norsepower, Winter & Co represented by Richard Ellis, Mike Lewus from the Stainless Steel Association, Capt Zarir Irani, Paul Luen CEO of Martek Marine, Mike Proudlove, John Excell and Mike Schwarz, IIMS CEO. A panel discussion will bring the first day to a close. Confirmation is awaited from representatives of Rolls-Royce Marine and Akzo Nobel who will also speak.
Delegates have a choice on the second day and can choose from six more technically orientated workshops.
The Annual General Meeting will be held at Regent’s University on Tuesday 12 September from 14.00.
IIMS wishes to thank Constellation Marine Services for their generous support as Platinum sponsor.
