11.05 Ocean Safety lifejackets and MOB by Rosemary Pedersen and Phil Jenner who will discuss three principal topics:
– Lifejackets and their required maintenance;
– Integration of MOB beacons;
– Liferaft identification and certification.

14.00 Lithium Ion batteries and their challenges to fire fighting by Ian Bartle, Nobel Fire Safety Ltd
– A 3 Stage approach to fixed protection systems.
– Off Gas detection and control to try and prevent Thermal runaway.
– Thermal runaway Suppression and containment.
– Stat-X suppression systems, testing and firefighting.

15.30 The practicality of fitting Tier 3 systems into workboat vessels <24m LLL and the experience MAN has had to date as a supplier and integrator. Things to consider as a surveyor on an annual basis and what technology is coming in the future which may influence the survey protocol going forward as we transition to alternative fuels will be discussed by Andy Page, Chartwell Marine and Ed Tucker, MAN.
