After successfully completing this unit you will 1) understand some of the main characteristics of the dry bulk cargoes most commonly carried at sea and 2) be familiar with some of the specific hazards associated with many dry bulk cargoes.

You will also learn and understand the characteristics of fertilisers and will become familiar with some of the specific hazards associated with fertiliser cargoes.
