The International Institute of Marine Surveying as the professional body for marine surveying recognises the need to promote the profession and the professionals within it to the highest level.
Level Three is the BSc (Hons) Degree year and is available by distance learning through the University of Portsmouth. Acceptance on this degree is subject to the University of Portsmouth's direct entry requirements.
Level Four is the Masters Degree available through the University of Portsmouth. Acceptance on this degree is subject to the University of Portsmouth's Master's entry requirements.
The Institute has a planned career path for Marine Surveyors:
Diplomas
Level One is a year-long modular course, delivered by Distance Learning with a choice of specialist subjects offering a career path opportunity for new surveyors and an option for the seafarer coming ashore and seeking a new career. The courses provide current surveyors with a way to extend and develop their portfolio of skills.
Level Two again delivered by Distance Learning provides additional specialist training to enhance the base skills from Level One and can add knowledge and supplementary skills for the experienced surveyor.
Level Three is the BSc(Hons) Degree year and is available by Distance Learning through the University of Portsmouth
Level Four is the Masters Degree available through the University of Portsmouth.
All the Diplomas are professionally and internationally recognised qualifications.
